A couple of weeks ago I visited a friend who moved into her families farmhouse and found loads of interesting and not so interesting stuff. We went to have a look at a cupboard she thought I might be interested in, but my eyes were drawn to a vintage sewing machine in front of it. You guessed it, I ended up going home with the sewing machine instead of the cupboard. After some research on the internet I found out it’s a Singer 128K made in Scotland in 1915. It’s been well used and after all that time needed a good cleaning and lubricating. In the pictures you see the result and guess what, this 100 year old beauty still works!I call her ‘mevrouw Trien’ (Mrs Trien), after my friends great aunt, who most likely owned it.
