So my Dots Quilt is finished, at last… But not at all like I planned it in the first place. I’ve written about this quilt two times before. Back in 2016 and 2017. My goal or better said my vision back then was to hand quilt the whole quilt with loads and loads of circles (around the appliquéd circles and many more scattered all over).

But as this quilt was now sitting in a crate for 7 years and the time and want to do the whole quilt by hand far far away, I decided to keep it simple and finish it with my sewing machine. For a little while I contemplated doing free motion circles. But, since starting this quilt, I found it to become too soft and girly. So after sketching a bit on my computer I decided on a different look. Wavy jeans blue stitching and a jeans binding to give the quilt a little edge.

Different look but I’m really pleased with how it turned out. And better still, no more WIP quilts laying around. No worries I still got quite a lot of English paper pieced hexagons to hand stitch together if I might get bored…
