Don’t you just love hexagon quilts? Well, I do! For this quilt I decided to test if I could sew the hexagons on the sewing machine. I heard a lot about this technique and yes it actually works! So no English paper piecing in this quilt. I think the method works really well because these are quite big hexies. I wouldn’t do really small ones with this technique. Small ones I’d just make the good way; by hand. That also has it’s own charm to it. I used a decorative cross quilt stitch I found on my sewing machine to sew these hexies to a fluffy woollen blanket I had. So only two layers in this quilt….
