What’s greater than giving someone a handmade gift. This quilt is a design I made for the 45th wedding anniversary of a special couple.
This design is great if you don’t like to sew with tiny fabric pieces and if you don’t mind doing some appliqué. Because of the big gestures the base of this quilt (the rectangles) has a great architectural sense to it and the appliqué dots give an unexpected playfulness to the design. All in all a great design with lots of opportunity to play with fabric and colour use.
This pattern with instructions contains a throw size quilt. In addition to the colour combination in the picture, I have added two colour suggestions, one for the Dotted Rectangles quilt and one without the dots.
To try out your own colour combination, you can find colouring stencils in the back of these instructions.
