Our sandbank is already a couple years old. So it’s well tested and still approved by our son. As we don’t have a very big garden and I’m not a fan of having sand all over the house, I thought of this raised sandbox which can double as extra seating area if the lid is down. You could also make this plan as a storage box instead of a sandbox.

Anyhow, our son still loves to with play it. The plateau on the right is great for building dams on or to use to ‘bake’ mud pies. Underneath the tray there is some storage space to keep the sand toys and trucks … although by now we have an extra crate in the shed since our son is a big collector of excavators (and bulldozers and dump trucks and so on and so forth).
