simple coasters by Staceys Craft Designs

You can make great little projects of left over fabric. I had some rubberised fabric samples laying around so I decided to make these simple round coasters out of them.
Just cut out two different size circles. The bottom circle has a diameter of 10cm (ca. 4″) and the top one a diameter of 8,5cm (ca. 3 1⧸4″). I used a little bit of all purpose glue to position them on top of each other (watch out, some glues can affect your material, test first!).
To give the coasters something more and to secure the two circles on top of each other I used a decorative stitch to sew one seam in the middle.
Because I used sample fabric pieces I have a great mix in colours. You could make them in only one colour combination and use different thread colours to sew them, or you could use different decorative stitches. A good alternative for rubberised fabric is felt, because the edges don’t fray.
